I've read several posts here about fishing small creeks for bluegills. I shot a video last year on a small creek just a few miles from my house and thought I would share it with you guys - seems like good timing. I posted this in the fly fishing section so some of you may have seen it before. But for those of you that haven't, I hope you enjoy "Afternoon on Duck Creek".

Side Note: Do not be surprised if J-Moe shows up there! nuts He is one of several fly anglers I fish with and all of them are "Masters of the Outdoors" and great people to fish with! thumb

Side Note: Jamie and Alan Hunter aka Hunter490 have both fished some local creeks in my neck of the woods. The fish went into deep hiding after that! hide2 Fish down here have Beware of Angler posters on all of J-Moe's posse! bolt

This is one of my favorites from your videos, Capt. Mac. I'll bet I've watched it at least five or six times in the last year. Nice job.

Capt., that was a very enjoyable video to watch!

There is something about a Vimeo production that often makes many YouTube videos look sort of almost out of focus in comparison. The clarity was so great, all of the close-ups, nature shots mixed in with the fishing.

And, small creeks are just the perfect scale for bluegill and creek bass. It just looks so much more enticing to see them pulled out of an uncrowded creek than from a 10,000 acre lake.

After some of the creek fishing postings/photos seen here from a really great group of anglers, I plan to take make a few trips to some myself. I did it all the time when I was a kid: just went and found a creek and fished it.

More videos!

Cheers! Brad

Aw, you guys are great! Thank you for the great responses!
Chuck - I've heard stories about all of you guys ( most of them beleivable) laugh
I would love to get to fish with each of you at some point in time. I don't think I have ever met a fly fisherman that I didn't want to fish with again. And most all of the people I have met that are in the forum are straight up guys. I guess I need to get out from behind the editing board and meet up with more of ya'll ( but I do have a lot of work to do. I've got four videos in various stages of editing right now). Again, I appreciate the kind words.

That's a tough one. I don't do these for money so I don't track my time. It really depends on how much editing you do. In other words, you could put a few clips down, add some music and your done. Or, you can use the same number of clips, do some fades, crop some clips, do some pan in and outs, add some narration, do some color correction, some audio equalization, add a intro and ending credits and you have a whole lot more time invested into the same length of video. It's just a matter of how much you want to put into it ( and I haven't even touched on multiple camera angles and synching audio - and don't forget about trying to find the right song that matches the speed, tempo and mood you want your video to portray). It can get to be seemingly endless. Sometimes you just have to draw a line.
My first couple of videos were pretty simple and I may have had six or eight hours in them - not counting the actual fishing and shooting time. My last couple of videos, and I'm just guessing, but I would say twelve to fourteen hours. I am getting faster as I learn how to do certain things on each video but it seem like each new video you try to do more and more. I do spend a lot of time trying to find the right music. Sometimes I have a song picked when I start shooting (and this helps a lot) but most of the time its the other way around. And then, to top it all off, you gotta catch something (and, get it on film)!
