I was working with Gator Trax to get a new boat build. I drug my feed and have missed the window to get one build by November. I have not had any luck finding another builder to meet my specifications on this build. If you have any contacts for Texas that would be great. I really feel we will have to look at other states as I have contacted most publicized builders on the web. I am hoping there is one you know that is NOT on the web that will work with me.

Not sure if you've looked into these guys. Saw their sign as I was driving into Nacogdoches this past weekend. I have no experience with them so cant comment on the quality of their work.

Thanks for the contacts. I have checked with Peter at WC. Guess he is cutting back as he will not get back to me after his first contact stating that he was doing welding work outside the shop and would get back to me. Several attempts later and still no response.

Pete has built 2 duck boats for me in the past. Very good boats. Is Gatortrax still that backed up from the flood?

If it were me, I'd be getting something out of Louisiana like a Charles Leonard boat. Them Pierre Part guys can build some aluminum boats. Multiple companies down there

Donald, unless your design ideas are proprietary or secret, I think many of us would be interested in some of the general ideas you plan to include in your new aluminum boat. That they aren't available on stock boats must mean you are doing some cool customizing. If you can, describe some of your "adds" to us.

Gator Trax builds a great aluminum boat. They use 3/16" aluminum so anything they make will be nearly indestructible. They made some changes on their bass boat about a year ago that took it to the next level in aluminum bass boats. They have base designs but you can change or add anything you want. Great group of people.

Unless it has changed this is just a one man show so I wouldn't except to get a boat out of there by November. Egbert is good though, couple of buddys used to run duck boats he built and I had him rebuild the transom on my pro-drive rig about 5-6 years ago.

Another name I recall from the duckboat business was Breaux Skiffs out of Louisiana, always heard good things about them.

You should do something like this. Cost about $30k from War Eagle and pretty easy to get.
