Does anyone have any leads on a front butt seat that would have a little more back support? I didn't know if anything was pre-made for us older guys with back problems. I could make one by welding up a frame that would go between seat and seat base but I thought I probably wasn't the only bass fisherman with back trouble. The higher base is what I want, kinda like sitting on a bar stool! Just looking for a little more support. Thanks in advance.

It really helps to get one of the Swivel Eze seat plates to tilt the butt seat to a forward position. Having that downward angle keeps the seat from cutting into the back of your legs. I also have the back off of a small office chair welded to a drop-in peg for the pole. This allows me to stand but have a entirely flat surface to lean against just above my hips. I want to stand for the first couple of hours to run the Spook properly. I then switch out the flat back for the tilted butt seat for the rest of the day.

Thx Donald, I do the same thing while fishing. I can stand for a while but then must lean on something to support the back. I want to be in an almost standing position for throwing certain baits, but still have the support. I'll check out Eze seat base, and keep looking. Thx again. Tom

Took a picture of this back rest that I use to make. I only have this one left and would part with it.

Been looking at those How tall are you, and does it support the lower back?
I can make assumptions about your character based on the plethora of ridiculous decisions you've posted about making, but I choose not to.

Been looking at those How tall are you, and does it support the lower back? If you are talking to me, I am about 5'9". The "seat" is above my butt at about my belt line. I leave it perpendicular to the deck and just lean against it. It would be possible to sit on it, but I would have to lower it.

Use a hydraulic pedestal to adjust for height.

Use a hydraulic pedestal to adjust for height. Bad back here too. i just bought a hydraulic adjustable pedestal and put a regular seat with a back on it like you'd put in the back of the boat on it. Works great and I can go all day now.
