Will be down in 2 weeks. What are my best options for getting bit? Should I fish off the bank in Galveston Bay or head out to the Gulf surf? Live bait or lures? Thanks.

Go on down to Roll Over Pass.....that would be my choice. Never know about the tide situation until you get down here., rip currents etc. Winds either. Park your vehicle and set up camp!! Try live bait, speck rigs, fresh cut baits and bring some extra terminal tackle!! good luck

The surf has been great on gulp swimming mullet, last time passing through rollover the water was a little off color but the fish are always there. Be sure to wear your pfd if your going to wade though, good luck to you.

Thanks. Are there plenty of bait shops around Roll Over Pass? Also, on the surf fishing....are there particular areas that I should target and how far out in the surf should I fish the gulp swimming mullet?
