My male genes are kicking in and whilst looking at a new Lowrance outfit for my console and bow I'm just like any other dude strolling through Best Buy looking for a new TV; BIGGER IS BETTER! But, please, somebody talk me off of that ledge and save me some coin. Anybody have 9" screens or 7" screens on their rigs that you are very pleased with in regards to size?

My units are HB's but I bought 2 9's December of last year and installed in January, and I spend all day looking for someone to post a used 10 or bigger for sale so I can replace me 9's.

Hope that helps roflmao

Go bigger! I just went with the 16 Carbon over 2 12's. Only cause I like the larger screen, but would rather have everything on one graph.

GOOD GRAVY!!!! If I had 8K to spend on electronics I wouldn't be asking this question. Lol! I bet that is an amazing set-up!

just get what you can afford. And get the birds. That'll save you the money, get you a bigger screen and get you better side imaging....
and that's coming from a guy with two HDS touch gen3's

Truth be told I prefer the image that the HB's produce but prefer the user friendliness of the Lawrence...DECISIONS!

Last night I dreamed I was standing on a bridge. There was a guy driving under the bridge in a bass boat with a screen about 22". He was wearing white sunglasses, a flat bill and a tournament jersey. I remember wondering what he was compensating for. Don't be that guy roflmao

p.s.-I made up the part about the hat, glasses and jersey. The rest really was a dream.

Well dang son! I had to get a bigger graph to compensate for me being hung like a field mouse! roflmao

I have 3 12" carbons and wouldn't look back on how I use them and the ease of having this many. Between the 9 & 7 I would go with the 9 over the 7, you will be glad you did much easier to ready and run different split screens on one unit. Yes bigger is better.

I also don't care for HB's user face and limited screen options. I feel that with having just one unit to reference I would prefer to have a combination of 3 images on the screen at a given time.

I dont know if you have ventured over to Bass Boat Central but you can find good slightly used or NIB equipment in the Swap & Sell sections. I wish I had found that area before buying my units.

Also, on the views for HB's, the only issue is that you can not customize your current view (other than resizing panes), but there is not a combination of views that are not on the unit, you just have to flip through all the views until you find the one you want. I can not think of a combination that I dont have available on my units.

I feel like 9 is the smallest you should have at the console..

I'll tell you one thing the difference between a 9 and a 12 is huge. I don't see big difference between the 9 and 10s
