Heck, fish over 10" for all that matters!
Fished from daylight till about 4, caught fish at every location I fished, timber or brush. Depth varied from 14-20 ft and fish were suspended anywhere from 10-18 ft. Caught early on chartreuse/white, the switched to monkey milk and shimmer shad.
Must have caught over 150 and kept 30. Had one that went 1.65 lbs and 4-5 solid 12" fish, but the rest were about 10 1/8". Did we wipe them out last year? I just can't understand where the bigger fish are hiding. But I cay next year outta be incredible with all the 8-9" fish we're catching this year.

We have been experiencing the same thing for a few weeks now, boating ALOT of fish, only coming across a handful of keepers, 12-16 ft primarily brush for us.

I ran into the same thing Saturday from 9-noon. Catch to keep ratio of about 15 to 1.
One thing I did notice - I was fishing trees from 20' down to 12', and there was a TON of baitfish present. My theory is that by the time I was dropping a jig in there, the bigger fish had all gorged and were hanging in the shade.
I caught a lot of big crappie in Lavon early this spring, so I think they're still there. They just haven't been able to find me yet.
When in doubt, set the hook

I went out to my slip on Friday about 9:00-12:00 and was catching consistently, but same thing, only 3 keepers (10" fish - nothing over) in that time. I probably caught 20 fish or so. I am in 13' FOW and the fish were suspended about 10' down.

I was out yesterday till noon, same type deal, a million short fish with some keepers mixed in. Was able to put 19 in the icechest up by the time it was all said and done. One thing i did notice, and I think Jerry Hancock has already reported this, but most keepers were under all the small fish. And when I say under, I mean they were on the bottom. I found fish anywhere from 17' to 26', and yes they were on the bottom in 26'. Big fish was an even 2lbs.

Same thing last Friday. Fished from 6:30 am to 3 pm. Probably 80 fish caught between the 2 of us and only 4 keepers. I was even catching undersized fish off the bottom. The big girls were definitely hiding from us that day. The week before, some nice slabs caught in the same spots.
Fishin' to stock Lake Crisco.

No big secret, just drop straight to the bottom, take up your slack, and then pop it off the bottom a foot or so. Hold the bait still after popping off the bottom. Usually the bite will come pretty quick after popping off the bottom. If no bite after 20 or so seconds, drop it back to the bottom and do it again. Lane Palmer's Thump Chubby in white/chartreuse did all the damage. Rigged it on a 1/8oz unpainted jighead.

all these fronts and fresh water has made it even tougher this past week. . I caught fish as shallow as 5' and as deep as 22' this week. That makes it hard to dial them in when they are that scattered. 20-30 keepers a trip is pretty normal right now.
