I have a Champion trailer and I keep losing my right rear tail/brake light. I find the bulb broken within a day or so of changing it. Only the right one and the right rear marker bulb is never effected. Does this sound like a ground issue? I'm terrible at trying to track down electrical problems.

water getting in and hitting hot bulb or shorting.disconnect trailer lights before launch will probably help. You can put electrical grease on contact part of bulb should anyway, and that will help keep water out of connection. Also replace or seal that light.

If they are actual bulbs, then X2 what scuboak said, or you can buy the assembly in a sealed LED version and never look back.

Is the bulb physically broken or just doesn't work?
If it's a bayonet type bulb the spring in the socket could be corroded and binding. Could be a bad ground. Check where the grounding screw goes onto the trailer for corrosion and clean that up.

I've had that a couple of times on my trailer. Turned out to be the wire splice connectors up inside the trailer channel. After the second time I went through and replaced all of them with some good crimp connectors.

Yes it's physically broken. I'd buy led lights but they wouldn't fit as replacements for my trailer. I had assumed it was the hot bulb theory but it only happens on one side and a friend told me his was caused by a short. I'll start looking for a short and see what I find. Thanks
