Was at Athens yesterday. Caught a couple toads of brush piles around 9 o clock. I too am still learning deep stuff as I am a shallow fisherman.. but it sure got my heart pumping getting those bites

Yea man there have been quite a few 8-9+ Swamp donkeys coming off of brush piles here these last couple of weeks. A man can really go out there and catch all the schoolers he wants. But I m not looking for that right now. I m more focused on really learning this off shore game and becoming a better angler! Only a matter of time!

We saw schoolers like crazy and ended the day chasing them but for 3-4 hours we hit point after point and graphed brush piles just to get some time out deep.

I m not to big on chasing schoolers unless I have someone with me that just wants to catch a mess of fish. I like looking for the 5 biggest bites I can get that day! Wheather we are fishin Athens or Palestine!
