My wife and I are looking to go to Caddo for a few days. I have never been and need help with everything. First where to stay and second how do you fish Caddo? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If ur planning on fishing then ur better off not coming at all. It's plain miserable and lake is pretty salvania up all over it.

I would advise not to make the drive. Even the guides are having issues and going other lakes right no. There's more party barge and ski boats then bass boats on the lake. Lol

Lake of the Pines is nice also. Fishing is good. Just don't have the views like Caddo

Anyone know how big cypress is from around the state park to big pines lodge? Not gonna do much fishing but was going to put in and run to big pines for dinner.

I would stay in Uncertain. Shady Glade is decent. Not the Ritz but decent. Run up Government Ditch to Big Cypress Bayou. Run up Big Cypress to to Big Pines for a beer & some great catfish or a burger. Beautiful scenery and my last recent trips the salvaina was not too bad in Government Ditch or the river due to boat traffic. Like mentioned above the boat traffic can get bad though. The salvaina was clear enough to travel up river well above the state park. Everywhere else it was heavy and hit or miss because it changes day to day with wind and/or boat traffic. That stuff is a cancer! Good luck!

mudd is right. I went this past weekend and there is a lot of vegetation blocking Britts Gap, parts of alligator bayou, and most of Ames looks like a pasture just like mudd's photo in post above. Main river via govt ditch on up to big pines and all of that is clear though.

Fishing sucked and it was HOT!
