I am late with last weekend reports because of the change in Photobucket policy. They dropped support for image referencing at their site, unless you pay for the service. So, I am switching to Imageshack after checking alternatives. I have already changed the link to my CC map. All my previous pics will show a Photobucket logo instead of my pic, and I do not intend to go back and change them all to Imageshack site.

Over the 4th weekend I had good success at Game Warden Hump - catching 35 to 45 fish for fish frys in 2 separate trips. I also found good concentrations at the NE part of the shallow spot on Long Ridge, on the south tip of Spillway Hump in 21 to 27 fow and on the south slope of Enchanted Isle Ridge.

I am still catching them with #4 Mepps.

Best part of 4th with my newest grandson

Yeah, I need to coach Bev to smile for these pics. She IS an intense white bass fisherman - been fishing Mepps since 1977.

Saturday July 8: #1 grandson Sam and I went out from 9:45 AM to 1:45 PM and caught 109: 100 whites, 4 cats,3 yellow bass and a hybrid. Caught about 30 at Spillway Hump and the rest at Enchanted Isle Ridge, where they were really stacked up. Fish were in 18 to 22 fow and most caught on #4 Mepps. Caught a few on #2 Mepps. Here are some pics:

Monday 7/17: Caught 51 including 33 whites, 3 legal hybrids and another 24 inch LMB, a crappie, a drum and the rest cats and keeper yellow bass. Looked from dam to enchanted Isle Ridge and found concentrations of fish in only 3 spots: Key Ranch Drop-off in 15 to 18 fow, Greenhouse Ridge in 25 fow and Hump west of Dam Pole in 19 to 22 fow. I looked at a dozen other main lake points and humps on my map and nada.

Wednesday 7/19: Went out from 5:25PM to 8:10PM and caught 30: 28 whites and 2 big yellow bass. All but 7 of the fish were caught at the A-Frame drop-off in 12 to 18 fow (on the slope). Was still catching them there when I left to check out some other spots. Greenhouse Ridge and Hump west of the Dam Pole did not have fish on them today. The A-Frame turned out to be the only spot where I found a concentration.

I have been trying a knock-off of Mepps #4 created by TFFer SeaPro Todd. So far it is looking good, and it is heavier making it easier to cast and quicker to get to the bottom. I've tried look-a-likes from 3 others, and none of them did as well so far as Todd's. But, I need more reps before I'll be convinced they are as good as Mepps.

Nice reports and thanks for the feedback, DC! FYI, the #4 I made and gave you are .4 oz. The original #4 mepps is .3 oz. So it's just slightly heavier. I went up to .6 and 3/4 oz and found that it's harder for the blade to spin. It's always fun learning and trying something new and it actually catch!! smile

This is a late report for Jul 21 -22, but important, because fish at CC have switched to #2 Mepps. Caught them in 11 to 13 fow at Key Ranch Drop-off. They would not take a #4, but when I switched to #2 with weight up the line, I started catching on every cast. This is about the time of year this happens due to new hatch of shad.

FYI, I will not be making reports for about 3 weeks due to just having neck surgery 2 days ago.

Dennis hurry up the healing and plan to come back to Tawakoni with us ASAP, yesterday with Todd it was Mepps 4-1 over slabs, I cant thank you enough. The last 2 days reports from friends are off the scale great here early and late.
My surgery is Wed so we both should be over it about the same time.
