Who do you recommend for an instructional guide? I'd like to learn how to consistently catch stripper and whites when they are not schooling. I can catch them when they are schooling and the birds give them away. I also don't want a guide who uses down riggers as I don't have them on my boat. I live close to Whitney and my wife and I love to fish so need someone to teach me to consistently catch fish. Any help would be appreciated.

Both are great guides and have a lot of knowledge of Whitney.

These local guides do not use down riggers, but do use live bait. The tough part about Whitney is catching live bait. Patt Small https://www.lakewhitneystriperfishing.com/Clay Yadon http://www.stripertrips.com/Guaranteed Guide Service http://www.guaranteedguideservice.com/My opinion would be to give Chris Richardson of http://lakelivingstonadventures.com/ a call. Chris has guided trips on Lake Whitney and won multiple tournaments! Lake Livingston Adventures taught me how to striper fish a few years ago, and it has paid off big time! Chris will not only put you on fish, but show you how to do it yourself! The local guides will probably help you, but giving up their bait holes may be an issue...
