Yesterday at 6:30p, on the North side of the Bridge in a marshy area. He was 26 and had his 5 y/o boy with him which was flown to UTMB Hosp....unconscious but breathing.....That place is a Death Trap...just my opinion. A week earlier, a 17 y/o drowned.

It's not a death trap. Some people just use poor judgement, and attempt things that they shouldn't. You can warn some people every way imaginable, but they ignore the warnings. And some people expect someone else to look after their welfare at all times, so they don't worry about danger.

Your right, .........I haven't been near that place since the early 90's. I camped under the South portion of the bridge but I was warned about the sands shifting under your feet....while wading that is. I didn't go in the water. Not sure if signs were even posted then. The place is like the area on the West side of Mosquito Island on the North side of the Tx City Dike. The area known as the DEEP HOLE. One can wade just a few yards out and "straight down". The it was maybe 27ft. Many have drown there and till this day.......NO WARNING SIGNS, even after I went to the City to discuss this.

Oh well....be safe where ever you go folks.
