The TFO factory called me today saying that I could exchange the mini mag combo that I got as a present. The combo stands at $375 so my question is, what tfo rod and reel do y'all think would be the best for the same value? I'm very new to the sport, so I really don't know what I'm doing. I need it for trout fishing up in Arkansas. Thank y'all for the help. I am going to the factory this afternoon

Stop by the Tailwaters shop beforehand if you can and ask that question there. It's just down the street from the TFO factory.

Failing that, the Pro II rods are good and you can get whatever reel -- the NXT or the BVK for instance.

Put a majority of your money toward the rod and the line, for 99% for trout fishing the reel is just a line holder.

thumb +1 on stopping by Tailwaters first.

Going to Tailwaters is excellent advice.

Personally, I really like the Mangrove series as a good general use rod.

Good luck!

Have nothing but good things to say about the people at TFO. They were extremely nice about getting everything figured out. They said they would call me on the 5th regarding which rod and reel they are willing to trade for it
