My brother and I put a canoe in at the state park and worked our way upstream about mile. Every time we got past a set of rapids we'd get out and wade, fishing behind every boulder and cypress we could. It was both of our first time on the Guad, and good grief was it beautiful. Plus it was the middle of the week so we only saw one family in 10 hours of fishing...would have thought we were the only people in the world otherwise. Fish were mostly small but we caught a bunch...a highly recommended change of pace for any LMB fisherman, especially if you've never been!

I have fished the Guadalupe a lot over the years. Love the river lakes. Dunlap,Mcqueeney, and Placid. They all hold some BIG bass. Meadow Lake also is a great place to fish.
IGFA World Record Rio Grande Cichlid. Lake Dunlap. John 3:16 Sinner's Prayer. God forgive me a sinner. I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior !
