I had a day off today and decided to go spend the morning on Boerne Lake.
It was a beautiful morning for fishing for this time of year. Good cloud cover
until noon when I left. I used light spinning tackle with drop shot and quill slip float.
I baited with both live maggots and nightcrawlers on a #4 hook. Fishing depth between
6 and 12 feet. I ended the day with 3 perfect eating size channel cat and
7 good size bluegill and one red ear. Water temperature was 84F.

.

Thanks guys. It was just great to be able to get out on the water. Boerne is a special
lake. Thank goodness it's electric or paddle only on this lake. It's a lot easier for me
to dodge kayakers than Ski-Doos. smile

Chuck -- I had a hard time at first. I got on the lake just after dawn and I didn't catch
a fish until 9:30AM. I caught all of my fish out of two small areas that I lucked in to.
I caught 2 of the cats trolling an 04 Shad Rap going between spots !

We ate the catfish for dinner. There were so good I about cried ! food

Nice trip, I've got a boat pretty much just yours and have been to Boerne several times . I live in FBG, what day of the week did you go? My problem with Boerne is all the MORONS camping out and swimming on the boat ramp were so thick you couldn't even launch a kayak. Maybe I will try a week day after school starts again.

If you go early mornings on the weekday, you should be good to go
