With Kaitlynn going to summer school in San Marcos she doesn't get to make it home much. But, when she does she wants to go fishing. She couldn't make it home Father's Day so she came home this past weekend and was ready to fish. Our last trip together was Memorial Day weekend when we went with Mark/Three Nails. She hung out with some friends Friday night so we didn't get a daylight start. We had 16 by noon while dodging showers and lightning when the front came in. After waiting at the ramp for about an hour we decided to go back out and stay close to the bridge in case it started storming again. Well, it started raining hard again and the north wind started howling. We picked up three more for the box and headed in as soon as we caught a break. She also caught 6 "ditch pickles". I went out again Sunday morning for a couple hours before church and picked up 11. Saturday the fish were in 15-18 FOW, suspended at 12'. Sunday I caught a couple at 12' but the majority of them had dropped down to about a crank off the bottom. Not great numbers but anytime I get to fish and go to church with my beautiful daughter it's a blessing.

Saturday it was about 50/50 minnows vs. Thermocline Mr. Fry in Black Emerald Shiner. For the most part when Kaitlynn goes I always take minnows. I may have to try and wean her off of them though. Sunday they were all caught on the Mr. Fry in both BES and Chartreuse Flash.




Thanks. I've been wanting to make a trip up to your stomping grounds on the Guadalupe. With Kait in San Marcos for at least the next two years it would give us an opportunity to spend a little time fishing up there.
