Want to take my 6 year old boys carp fishing this weekend. I was hoping to get some ideas where I can catch quantity to keep two boys interested, not worried about quality. I know a few spots, but a drive away, so I was hoping to find something closer around McKinney/Frisco area. CPR only of course.

I have tried McKinney Town Lake, but caught more turtles than anything else.

Check Google maps and look for any creeks, parks, etc, that run into the Trinity river near you. Otherwise, virtually any body of water in Texas has Carp in it. One of the funnest things I used to do when I first started Carp fishing was documenting all the places I caught Carp at when I had no idea if there was carp there or not. Throw out a few cans of corn, put a few on a hook and see what happens. Reminds me of the time I did the same thing in a pond behind an apartment complex. Was shocked to be catching 15lb+ Carp from such as small pond. lol..
