I'm trying to get a 12 hour charter going in July at Deep Sea Headquarters in Port Aransas on the Pelican.  I'm looking at Tuesday, July 18th but July 19th and 17th might also work.  The plan is to get a quick limit of red snapper and then spend the rest of the day looking for tuna behind shrimp boats.  I've hooked up with big mahi, sailfish, blackfin tuna, big sharks, kings and bonita and seen big ling and wahoo caught behind shrimp boats so the fishing can be great if we find the shrimp boats holding fish.  There's always a chance of finding yellowfin there as well.  I'd like to get 15 or a max of 16 people.  The cost for 15 would be $227 plus the deckhand tip and for 16 it would be $218 plus their tip.  I have two small groups possibly interested in the trip but whether they go or not I need more people and need to get this together asap if it's going to happen to secure the trip with DSHQ on the desired date.

Chris .... the 19th is on a wednesday and the Pelican's typical 12 hour trip day. I'm not sure about now but in the past they didn't do charters on Wednesday.

Also, James will not be running the boat in July, PM me if you want more info on that.

The king fisher runs the Wednesday trips. At least it did last time I fished a 12 hour Wednesday trip.

I am coming in from ohio and have done these trips before I am game for any of those days as long as my 80hr is a no go on the 18th which by the looks of the booking its a no go.

I have cash ready to put up for the earlier days. Let me know. I will message you my phone number as well its a colorado number we are a military fam I am staying in Rockport for 3 weeks coming with jetskis rigged out and a yak for offshore fishing.

Or just pony up big and jump on one of the big trips with DD there is a chance of combining the 2 DD trips and making one yet.

I was looking at a 24hr trip with DSHQ around that time for my wife and I, she would prefer a 12. If you still have room, we would be very interested in this trip. PM me and let me know.

Hey, that would be an awesome idea, if the shrimpers had been out for more than a couple days... realistically... the fed regs have prevented a combo trip for snapper and shrimp boats... yes we can nail a couple fish those first few days (I got 2 bft July 16 last year and 8 bft July 20 last year, on the 20th I was full on tuna fishing, and that's all I caught on a 12hr!) [fk it it's tuna season and I'm tuna fishing, win lose or draw]... but there's really not a good time to combo snapper/shrimp boat fish... even if the regs change ... to give a fair shake at shrimpboat fishing... so much effort is involved to have a chance at being successful, that bottom fishing really doesn't fit into the plan. As the captain of the boat, I would suggest doing a snapper trip OR doing a 12+ hr shrimp boat trip after the shrimpers have been there a couple weeks at least. ... I mean it's your charter, and I'll do what you say, but I really hate when clients give trips unrealistic expectations.... It makes it hard for everyone, especially me. I will not be captain in july... it's a long story, but, basically, I have to go up to Houston for some extended training. Feel free to pm me to set up a charter that has a realistic chance of meeting your expectations and giving you a trip that I am proud of.

Charter is off. Both groups of people I had changed their plans and are doing other things.
