Second time I've had to remount my hot foot due to screws stripping out. I moved it over to get to fresh fiberglass once already. What type of screws are recommended and what's the best way to install it without wearing out the location with holes?

This happened to me a few times over the years on my champ. I just kept moving it until I had screw holes all over. I pulled the carpet back and filled all the holes with marine Tex. Then I put a thick. Coat of marine Tex over the entire foot print and reinstalled. There is probably a better way but mine has held tight for the last couple years. Good luckJD

Stainless Steel screws. Apply a drop of 3M 4200 to seal the hole. Let it dry at least overnight before applying any pressure. 24 hrs. is even better.

Had this happen yesterday very scary situation when you are running the boat lanes and have two giant wake boats in your rear view!! Fixed last night with some thicker screws and 3m 4200 seems to be very solid I guess time will tell
