Any thoughts on a good rod? Prefer one piece. I have a Blackhorse Custom I've had several years but can't find any info on them now to order another. That rod is still going strong but need one or two more....

Pro Angler Tackle Rods are a good choice. One piece rods. Stainless guides. Very affordable price point and they'll handle anything in freshwater.
