Had a new magnum gear case put on the etec recently. We fished Palestine and now Ray Roberts, about 10 trips total in the last month or so. Idling through creeks I've had the prop hit a stump or two, never at an rpm over idle. Was looking at the prop last night, spun it and noticed the shaft is bent. I doubt it came from the factory bent and I can't believe contacting a stump at such low rpm could bend it, I'm at a loss. Is the lower unit shot or can it be removed and straightened? Thank you

You can have a shaft straighten. But i would replace the shaft.

Yes. A prop shaft can be bent striking a stump even at idle speed. It usually doesn't, but, it can. They CAN be straightened, depending on how much its bent. Some can be straightened others can't. Find a good mechanic or shop you trust, go with their recommendations.

Had Service Marine out at Fork straighten mine three years ago and haven't had any problems since. Saved about a grand.

That repair should be covered by insurance if you have it.
