The Ray Hubbard Bass Cub will be having our fourth members only tournament of 2017, Saturday May 13th on Lake Palestine. Here is the information -

� When: Saturday May 13th
� Where: Lake Palestine - Lake Palestine Resort - ($5.00 launch fee)
� Time: 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
� Registration: 5:30 AM - 6:15 AM (in the restaurant)
� Entry Fee: $60.00 per boat � 2 person maximum

You MUST be an RHBC member to fish this tournament. We do not accept membership at the launch ramp, so if you want to fish this one, you will have needed to join the Club at our meeting this Thursday night at BPS Garland. Here is a link to the meeting information.

Registration will be at the ramp starting at 5:30 on Saturday morning. When you register you will be given a numbered chip. You will need to to turn your chip in by placing it on the board to get your fish weighed. You can then launch or trailer and go to your spot. No lines in the water until 6:30. Lines out at 3:30.

There will be a 30 minute dead water period where no fishing is allowed at the end of the day. This is to give members time to get off the water, and the TD's time to get the weigh in set up. The chip must be back on the board with the Tournament Director by 4:00 and weigh in will start then. If your chip is not on the board by 4:00, a 1 pound per minute penalty will be assessed. After 15 minutes your catch will be disqualified. You will be called to the scales by boat number. Leave your fish in the live well until your number is called! Keep the water treated! You got that right. Off at 5:00 and heading down 175 to Palestine with a quick stop at the house.

Results?

Fishing was tougher than expected yesterday. Ronnie and Capp go back to back. They won with 18 pounds even. Small weight for Palestine. Big bass of the tournament was a 6.44 brought in by Robert Hitt and John Bruner. 40 boats fished. I will get full results and pictures posted later this week.

Bluebird skies are tough on Palestine is what I was told. Luckily the fish bit a jig ! That's my strongest technique and my favorite! V&M makes some very good jigs!! I'm not losing any like I used to with another brand! I'd go through a dozen in a day getting stuck in the structure. The V&M head slides through the brush and nasty stuff!

thanks. we weren't expecting a W at all. We figured a top 5, but never expected a W.

Ronnie - Congrats to you and Capp. It took me and my brother a while but we finally realized we were going to have to put a jig on the docks and luckily caught a few. They seemed to be on docks closest to the spawning area's. We got 4 and we both lost a small keeper each which would have been nice to catch a limit but we had a blast anyway. I am still surprised that with wearing the paint off of a swim jig, chatterbait and spinnerbait that we didn't catch one fish using those baits except for a few small non keepers.
