I don't like the way it is doing the side imaging. Seems I can only go out 50 or 60' on either side and that is not really effective for me. Any suggestions on setup to allow it to go out say 100' either side? I will get a picture to post Thursday night and maybe that will show my problem better.

Thanks

Jody Kea

What depth of water are you in during this issue? Post a pic of your lss transducer too.

You can manually take it wider. In Automatic mode, the side scan will shoot out about 3X the depth you are in.

I forgot to take pictures last night due to the storms. I did try the Side imaging again and it works well for 50' out either side. I think you may be on to something about 3X the depth I am in. I mainly use it in 10' or more. I will get some Pictures Saturday of Transducer and the unit in action.

Thanks for the help.

Use 455 kHz instead of 800 kHz to get more coverage.

The side imaging transducers point sideways at a downward angle. So the amount of range you get is totally dependent on water depth. In 12 feet of water you are not going to get much side coverage with typical side imaging.
