I nailed a 2x6 go my outdoor workbench for my last one. Temporary but worked well enough that it was still there when I moved.

Can you not put down blankets and such to pad it and lay it on its side? I don't think it hurts to lay them down.

The manufacturer said the oil will run in to the cylinders If it's a 2 stroke, that's a good thing.

How big is it, and how long does it have to be off? We've used a come-a-long and hung'em from trees on bigger motors, or you could probably just stand it up in a corner if it's small enough to lift off yourself.

If it's a Yamaha Skeeter will give you one. My dad went to Miss. last year to pick up a motor, called them and they told him to come get one.
