Just checking for feedback on its performance...also is the transducer compatible with any Garmin unit?

Never used one, don't really think it would serve much purpose to me. From what I've seen, it's not a great image anyway and I don't stare down at my depth finder the whole time I'm fishing so I don't see the purpose. Good luck

I have it on a 7612xsv touch screen and it is unbelievably awesome, but very expensive. Everywhere the trolling motor points you can see wether there are fish there or not in real time and actually watch as they chase your lure or move away.

The transducer is not compatible with any unit. You have to make sure the unit has Panoptix. I'm not sure what all units that is. The cheaper single setting transducer is $1000 and the adjustable width setting transducer is $1500 I believe. That's just the transducer. Then add the cost of the unit and a $300 bow mount. My 7612 Xavier alone was $4k. Ouch! But I had the unit in the dash of my previous Ranger so it didn't feel like such a hit when I transferred it to the bow of my new Phoenix and only had to buy the transducer and bow mount.

Thanks for the info...just one more question...does it work well if there is a bunch of structure i front of you like a submerged weedline or a bunch of trees?

I actually use it to locate brush piles in front of me. Instead of sort of fan casting where you are pretty sure the cover is, you simply scan back and forth with the trolling motor and see exactly where to cast. It makes you extremely efficient. How often when you fish a brush pile are you casting 5' to the left, 5' to the right etc. if you aren't in the strike zone you aren't getting bit. I can see the brush pile exactly where it's at and even see if fish are moving around it most times.

Also imagine pulling up to a bridge corner where you would normally fish for a while to decide if there are active fish. Panoptix you can pull up, put your trolling motor down, look for activity/fish, say yes or no and either fish or already move on. Efficiency. Time saver.

panoptics will work on 93sv chirp not non chirp the 73svs same i think.

Panoptix was a major reason how/why Scott Martin won the FLW Lake Cumberland tourney. They showed him using it, spotting fish and watching the fish chase and eat his jerkbait. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Great for seeing brush piles, trees, grass lines as well as understanding what the bottom is doing all around you.

Keep in mind your're always seeing a live screen so you can litterally aim your casts based on how you've got your transducer set up. The two options out now for trolling motors do each offer a few differences so I would study up on what you really need it for.

Set right way I can see a crankbait on the bottom out about 40 feet, an alabama rig as far as I can thow it and know when to speed it up or slow it down to keep at right depth. Drop shooting you can even see your line if you set the angles right and tweak it a bit.

There are tricks to it as well as settings that you can tweak to get more or less from it.

Like any sonar a bit of time using it and you'll be good at it.
