I'll drink to that. Later.

That battle not only won Texas her independence from Mexico, but also set the stage for one of the greatest transfers of land in our nation's history.
From the plaque on the San Jacinto Monument: "Measured by its results, San Jacinto was one of the decisive battles of the world. The freedom of Texas from Mexico won here led to annexation and to the Mexican War, resulting in the acquisition by the United States of the States of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Oklahoma. Almost one-third of the present area of the American nation, nearly a million square miles of territory, changed sovereignty."
"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." - Samuel Adams

I'll drink to that. Later. I just started and had no particular reason, but now I feel completely justified!
You are not a good or nice person.
