Does anyone know what the knob is on the base of my steering wheel is and what is for? It is kinda a round knob with approximately at 2 inch screw post on it. It screws in or out at the base of the steering wheel. It is all plastic. Appreciate any help.

It's supposed to adjust the tension on the steering wheel.

When in doubt, set the hook.
