Caught this guy with a tiny plastic grub, he was on a bed. I was just happy to get such a neat photo.

and the water is super clear!

I have fished here several times over the last couple of years. I saw more this weekend then ever before. Several on bed, probably why I notice so many.

I fished another on a bed for about 1hr, tried everything I had but no luck.

I bet the pond on the other side of Lemmon would be some good fishing.

As much as I have fished in this spot I've been too lazy to walk over there since I park by that old theater tucked into the woods behind the creek.

I noticed a couple of guys fishing on Saturday. Any reports???

If any of you guys were to guess , what would you think would be the primary forage? Crawfish, bluegills???

If I had to guess, with it being a creek, I would say smaller fish species (Bluegill, bass minnows) and crawdad's would be the primary forage. I'm sure they will eat other bugs and stuff including birds if they have the chance. I've seen bass eat baby ducks before. The bass was big enough to inhale the entire bird though.

I have been fishing here about 2-3 times a week for the past 3 months. Mostly just for Largies.

I have caught bass here mostly on plastic worms\lizards\swimbaits, plastic frogs, and recently crankbaits (chartreuse with a black top.

a few bass seem to still be spawning (surprisingly). I noticed a bed this weekend between the 2 lemon ave bridges right up against the walkway.

The creek is full of bluegill and they all just spawned in the past few weeks so you will see alot of little fingerlings.

I like the creek because it's easy to sight fish. I have also noticed that nothing ever seems to work consistently so I'm constantly changing up my color and presentations.

I'm going to make a map of the places that i have fished on the creek because there are alot of little hidden spots that seem to never get fished since they are not part of the main park area at Lemon.

Also the creek turns into a pond if you go north up to Fitzhugh. You can catch some nice bass surrounded by multi million dollar homes.

Nothing special but I caught this guy last ngiht.

Very under-rated fishing spot in the city. Lots of activity in the creek, and the LMB population is healthy, ranging from dinks to monsters. I pulled a 5.5 out last year, and have seen others on beds that look like they were 6+. This spring I haven't landed anything huge, just a lot of solid fish. Here are a couple that went 3.5 and 3, both at 18"+. Soft plastics have always worked well.

Well the decision has been made to give it a go on Sunday morning, if the forecast allows.

I had pulled out a number of 2-4 lb'ers this year but nothing huge until yesterday. She went 5 1/4 lbs and just under 21". The creek was not in prime condition - water clarity was stained and quite a bit of leaves & debris still floating around (I'm assuming from the recent heavy rains). But I saw her in ~1' of water hanging around a bluegill bed, probably waiting on an easy meal. Got her on the 2nd cast with a stickbait. Put up a great fight, and had a lot of cool-looking black spots in her markings. Love to fish the Creek!
