With another post about aluminum boat options some of you wanted to see pics of my new ride.
I've fished a couple of local events and its getting a lot of close looks from others.
I'm giving just a brief summary and will answer some of the questions I typically get.
It may not be for everyone but has a lot of advantages if your looking for an aluminum rig.
Gator Trax is located in Springfield, La.
They custom build these to your desired overall length.
Mine is 21' with 92" beam and front deck is 72" where I stand.
They use 3/16" (.1875) aluminum compared to the typical (.100) used on the majority of other brands. This makes it almost impossible to dent when riding over wood. Also the boat is heavier which really helps the ride in rough water. Handles very well. No sliding.
Mine runs low 70's with a good load. I've seen another one similar to mine run 77.
Wind doesn't blow front end around.
Storage is great. Actually better than any other 21' fiberglass that I've seen.
Easy access to batteries, etc.
They use HydroTurf in lieu of carpet. This stuff will not get hot or slick. Hoses off easily.
Live wells are divided and large.
They installed a 50 gallon gas tank in mine. If a long run is needed thats not a issue.
Our lakes are brutal on our boats. This boat is a tank or battleship that runs fast and fish's great.
