No...tried them for several years...even when I was catching fish on other jigs and would switch to gulp minnows...I still couldn't catch a fish with them...but they DO catch fishermen while they are sitting on the shelf! Lol

same here have never caught a fish on them.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

I've caught a ton of fish on them, mostly drum, small catfish and white bass. One time I was catching small crappie every cast using the small gulp alive minnows. I switched to a similar sized "regular" jig and continued to nail them, so it wasn't the jig. I have also had a jar leak all over the trunk of my car and it wasn't very pleasant. I'd recommend buying some other jigs and spraying some scent on them if you want more stink.

Sorry I guys. They out fish live bait and other jigs 2 to 1 every time. You need to use the 2.5 inch. Emerald shad best. But I have been catching a ton of fish on Pink shine -- on sale at almost half price direct from Berkely.

and you can catch 6--10 fish on a single bait! IF THEY GET CUT ON THE HEAD END JUST BITE THE HEAD OFF AND REHOOK SHORTER. SOMETIME THEY WORK EEN BETTER IF YOU ARE GETTING SHORT STRICKED.

Never had any good with the 1 inch. 2.5 is the number.

I wish shops would carry it. In fact when I retire in a year or so I am thinking about trying to become a rep for Gulp.

it works better than live bait.

I purchased 6 jars of the small ones for a $1 at Academy. I have not had a opportunity to use them.

Never used Gulp Alive Minnows on Crappie. I have used them on White Bass with pretty good results! thumb

I have had really good success with them in the wintertime for crappie. I used the one inch ones in the small jar. The best way to fish them is with a small (size 8-10) hook with a small split shot 6-10 inches up the line. You'll have to run 2-6 lb mono or fluro hi-vis (unless your using braid) in order to fish this effectively and feel/see bites. Would I say its the best bait out there for crappie, no absolutely not, BUT, in response to the OP's question: They are pretty good when veritcally jigged over crappie in the cooler months in the manner i just described.
