Thinking about deleting DirecTV and goin to an antenna or something. Have you done this? We have Internet, so what are our options, what's the cost, what works best, what do I avoid? Thanks.

I'm thinking about doing the same.
I can find pretty much find everything I want on a jailbroken firestick. All I need to to is add an antenna for local channels. Still gotta teach my wife how to use the firestick, though.

I haven't had cable in five years , antenna cost $40 bucks or so . You will miss your shows for two weeks then you won't care . It's mostly garbage anyway .

lakeforkfisherman, This ^^ is sure an option and can get you almost literally everything including movies that are currently in theaters. Mine currently needs to have Kodi re-installed and I'm not techie enough to do that and get it all set up so will need to get my little techie friend to help me re-install one that works.

I think you can buy a box that comes already with Kodi pre-loaded and don't have to jailbreak anything?
Other options to use with internet but are not free:
Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, Amazon prime instant videos (free with Prime membership)
A good OTA antenna and Netflix would probably be pretty nice.
Make sure you don't have data limits on internet or you can eat that up right quick when streaming.

I noticed that I watch TV les & less, so about 6 months ago, got rid of Dish, no cable, no antennes, dont even turn the thin on anymore, now if I can get a lawyer to help me get back some of the time I wasted watching Tv all these years. I dont miss it at all .. (the preceding statement(s) are null & void when MLB starts although I have considered just sitting in my truck & listening to games on radio which is what I did when I was a kid, everything old is new again

Dropped cable years ago. It sucks when there's a Cowboys game on NFL Network or ESPN. But I just go to my nephew's house when that happens. Hasn't really bothered me when it comes to Longhorn games. It's made Saturdays a little less painful. When it comes to cable series I like. I'll just find the DVDs and binge watch. To be honest if it wasn't for football, I may not even own a TV. That's really the only thing I can sit down and watch without being distracted.
I could listen to music all day and night and be fine with it. Music is like a natural speed for me. My thing the last couple years is exploring different genres.

I got antennas, sling, Netflix, Kodi and YouTube.

$30 a month. More content than I could want.

Still have to pay for Internet but I've been saving $90 a month for a year. Do the math.

I'd recommend anyone try what I did or a combo. Worst case scenario if you really miss expensive TV that much after a few months and you're willing to pay the money you'll get a good new member deal with the cable or satellite company LOL

Depending on how strong and fast your internet connect is, look into Roku TV, I have it at home I pay 8.00 a month and have over 120 channels. Although some are off the wall channels,if your not fishing and just want to watch something it ain't bad for 8 bucks, course the more u pay the better channels u get
Check it out

I also have this at my trailer at fork, unfortunately the parks internet service is not the greatest, hardly works sometimes,to get a personal internet service cost as much as Direct tv, so in my case I'll just keep direct tv
