One crazy thing I've notice about Inks Lake is. DO NOT GO OUT THERE AT NIGHT IF YOU HAVEN'T tour the lake and know it's got hazards. Big piles of large rocks and boulder near the dam on the left a good way out from the shore line. It's got marker buoys but easy to misunderstood as a shallow hump. Rocks are like one feet below the surface. If you need a new boat and want to claim insurance. This is it. Inks lake is the place to do it.
Second if you wanna claim life insurance for your wife and kids. This lake is it. Just keep going toward the dam pass them bouy a short distances and your wish will come true. I guaranteed you'll go over the dam. Looks to be a LONG way down. They got what's looked to be a low level curve concrete wall for water to flow over it when lakes gets filled up with water. You can and will go over the concrete wall. Other than that it's a great little lake to take your family camping. They got air condition cabins and just a very short distance to Lake Buchanan.

Night fishing on Inks can be great hitting the lighted docks. But you need to be extremely careful and have good GPS navigation. It been 20+ yrs ago but a couple in a ski boat I believe did go over the damn. I know one died but not sure on the other.

I am the Striper King on Buch.

Hey brandon, tell us that story about you cussing out the wrong guy on the boat ramp. I'm still laughing about that one.

Anyone been on Buchanan lately or up in the Colorado River, can you even get all the way into the river from the main lake from Garrett Island and Beaver Creek area?

God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

Me and a friend went out Tuesday night for a couple hours and hit lights in Council and Morgan Creek. Caught around 20. Nothing big but all keepers. Biggest was about 5lb hybrid.
