I have a Revo LTX (the JDM finesse specific version). I want to pair it with a good drop shot rod to fish with 8 or 10 lb. test. I would like to stay under $200, but will consider a bit higher.

I need a rod that will be easy to cast accurately with the light weight and line, with good sensitivity.

Suggestions???

I use a Dobyns DX 702,I know it is higher than you are willing to go but I believe you can get one in the lower priced lines.

Reel Time Rods located at Pope's Landing at Lake Fork. Talk to Ron and he will fix you up with a custom rod that will work great!

I like the Dobyns Champion XP 702 SF rod for $250. A little bit outside your price range, but there may be one you can pick up at less cost on here or elsewhere. It is designed for darterheads, drop shot, shaky heads, etc.. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I have a custom made IM-10, 6'9"M. Very sensitive, light, has lighter tip, but good backbone. I am actually looking at having one built with the eyes reversed like a spinning rod. Increases the sensitivity even more.

Man I bought a cheap spinning rod combo from Cabela's just to throw in local ponds. Ended up taking it to Amistad for a drop shot rig and ended up using it about 90% of the time. It's a very light setup. I personally dont think you have to spend $150-200 + for this setup.

typically any casting rod for finesse. You don't have to spend a mint, medium action, the reel is much more important

Duckett 7'M crankbait rod. My 2nd choice would be a Dobyns 701 if you can find one.

Phenix Recon 2

The best casting drop shot rod I've ever used is the Phenix Recon PHX-C713ML. I bought this rod specifically for a smallmouth trip that I took to Lake Erie and it blew me away. I've never fished with a more balanced rod and the actions on these rods are very true. If you order a medium, fast, you're gonna get a medium, fast. For $169 I guarantee you won't find a better drop shot casting rod.
