Is it just me or does it just CRINGE anyone else when a guy hooks in to a bass and automatically assumes the "I'm about to take a dump on the deck of my boat stance?" LOL I can't stand it!

I think just about everyone of the pros (except KVD) do this a lot of this for show. Like Ike screaming. Some of it was genuine, but a lot is marketing.

Its quite comforting when you do that while being clogged up and hooking into a giant. You can just rinse the mess off of your deck!

I completely agree. I do like watching the pros on TV. Every once in a while, they say something I want to try. But, the theatrics of screaming or bouncing around the deck bringing in the 3-4 pounder drives me a bit nuts.

I do get a kick out the fact that a) on the pro-shows, the ones with pros showing you how to do it, they always have these custom lures, and special hooks, and all these gimics to catch, but on b) the tournament shows (ex. MLB), they use simple lures, simple techniques, and don't always catch wall bass.

Something else, and Bill Dance is the worst, is when the do catch a hog, the can't just reel it in. The have to get next to the boat than start directing it up and down the length of boat like they're working extra hard to get in the boat. It's a time waste. Look at the damn fish. It's exhausted.

OK.. I've vented.

Yelling about a 4lb "toad/hog" thing is annoying at best. The flopping around on the deck when they lose the "monster" is also goofy. I mean we all hate losing a fish as well but really.
To be fair... if it was for a 150k payout i may just do the same.

Here's the one word line that eats me, "BIGGUN " and it ends up being a 2 lb'er. After awhile you just think, yeah right.

Most of them waste way too much time casting right and reeling right.

Not interested in watching or following "pro" bass stuff.

I fish with guys who are as good or better than most of them. They followed different life paths so they are not "pros".

But I have no doubt some of the best bass fisherman live in North Texas and have never fished for money.

OR it could be that passion that allows them to fish 250+ days a year

Doug Stange on In Fisherman is the worst at this! I hate it too! I have seen him keep the poor fish out of the water for over a minute, and actually used the fish to point with! It drives me nuts!

I always laugh at them for looking so stupid or they over exaggerate the rod up in the air and lean back like they're about to fall out the boat. I set the hook and just stand there reeling it in. I haven't figured out how they got started looking so stupid. The 4 lb toads and screaming/jumping get me too. If I was on camera, I'd want to look like I've been there before.

As far as the Bill Dance fish workout, I'll admit it, I do it a lot. I'm not fishing for money so I'm in no hurry and I rarely lift them from the water unless they're really small. I have them throw fewer cranks when I tire them out more and just enjoying the feel of the fish putting up a fight.

ok... one more and ill leave this alone.... how about Dave Mercer when he starts the towel twirling and yelling "G G G G Giant bass" or when saying the weight "X lbs and 10 ouuuncceesssss".

i know, i know im being very cynical but it grinds me.

All that said, i still watch them now and then. I watched the 2015 Sabine river one the other day and it blew me away when i saw Mike Mcclelland go to his spot everyday that was 110 miles away. 110 miles one way is a heck of a run and i gotta respect that.
