I'm thinking about adding a bow mount 360 to the boat. Problem is I have a terrova. Has anyone found a good mount that will connect to the terrova? I've found a few but nothing that I am really crazy about. The Cumberland Crappie mount looks the most promising but seems a little over priced for just an aluminum bracket and fiberglass shaft. I've thought about getting the transom 360 but concerned if that wouldn't be more prone to damage from stumps and I think that it would be a little easier to use at my feet rather than 18' behind me and having to mentally compensate the distance from the front of the boat.

I was looking at that also. Cumberland Crappie is the only mount for that I saw anywhere. The bow mount 360 with their mount still puts you in the general price range of the transom mount model. Any way you cut it, it costs a lot of money to go fishing.

I agree about using the transom model in trees/stumps. I did not get one until there was a bow model available.

If you want to take the chance with the transom version, you don't have to mentally compensate for the distance between the transom and bow. There is an offset setting to allow for that. I was showing someone a few days ago how to do that with his transom 360.

I did not know that about the offset. I have read warnings on forums about use in stump fields but I did have a question about that. Wouldn't I see the underwater obstruction on the FF with the 360 to avoid damaging it? I'm starting to lean a little towards the transom mount, especially if it has an offset, for simplicity sake but don't want to do it if it is too easily damaged.

How do you store it while moving? I'd like to find some videos or photos of it before I try that way.

It takes some skill to determine stumps on 360 and you have to be paying attention all the time to avoid them.

Additionally adjusting boat direction of the transom is not as quick as the bow.

" Not sure if I want to have to deploy and remove both every time that I stop to fish."
That is the major draw back for me, but I couldn't find another that I liked better. It comes with two rubber U fittings?, at a lose for what they call them, that you mount to deck or side, that holds the down shaft, when not deployed. My original was set up to use the whole trolling motor mounting frame. That was a major pain deploying and pulling up when moving. I have since ordered the down tube adapter that uses just the 360 head and shaft. That will be extremely easy to deploy. I know I wouldn't want to have to lift a trolling motor with the 360 and frame attached to it! Not sure I could do that more than a couple of times before I hurt my back. This is not the perfect solution, but it suits me just fine. Good luck with whatever you come up with, and let us see it. If I had to do again, I would just buy the SI and not the 360. It's really not worth it to me.
As a side note, I did have to send my 360 in for service, as the pod head seal let all the oil leak out. What a mess! That fluid is very hard to clean up.

thank you. I noticed the video of the trolling motor mount that you could see him struggle a bit lifting it out of the water. I'm thinking of going with the transom mount. I have SI on both units but I really think that I would like the 360 to go with it. If you decide to sell your 360 let me know lol.

I'll keep you in mind if I go bow mount. Unless I ran into a deal on a used bow mount first I am pretty sure that I'll look into the transom mount but that can all change the more that I investigate the units

Let me know guys. The mount doesn't work to bad... Still got to be careful and not pop the stumps really hard.
I'll let it go for a really reasonable price.
I don't think you would be disappointed.
IMO it's better than a transom mount system.

At least with it up front you can see most stumps before you hit them and it has your tm to help protect it.
On a transom, hate to see what would happen if you snagged a good stump... Don't think it would be good.

Yes it is. I consider myself to be relatively strong, and I wouldn't want to pull it up more than a couple of times. The mounting bracket is what weighs so much. Very solid.
