Bulletman99, yes I can just see this kid in the military. He'd only say that one time! But, it would be good for him in the long run. I didn't stay in long enough to retire but I wouldn't trade my time for anything. I have lots of Army relatives, married a General's daughter. I was the odd ball.

Don't know them from Adam but I bet they have lots of money!!! In my 50+ years I have seen this type of attitude over and over and 95% of the time this is the type of people that display this type conduct.

You are exactly correct! I was just filled in by a person that has known this kid an his parents for quite a few years and was told if they had known he was in our club beforehand she would have warned us and she wasn't at all surprised. I got a call from the dad on the way to the tournament and was called every name you can think of, the worst cursing I've ever had in my entire life. He also told me he hoped my son and I hit a stump and the boat sunk. Unbelievable is about all I could think of as I listened to him. I am glad he's out of the club!

WOW!!!! You definitely have way more patience than me, and people say I am easy going. You did everything the way it should be done IMO. You said leaving at 0500 and launching at 0530. If you miss the meet you have until launch to catch up and if you miss the boat then sorry. My son plays competitive baseball and we have one kid with parents that wont be on time to their funeral unless beer is being served and they can't understand why he doesn't get to play. Unfortunately there are people like that in this world. Hell a couple of them are running for President.

I'm with Hoghunter and that's exactly how I would explain it to the parents. Just like a football game there is a start and a finish time, if you want to play you better be there in time to get dressed and get ready to play. And oh by the way he (or she to be fair) needs to bring this and that> Trust me having kids playing middle school sports now, it is expensive, I bet we have spent $500 this year on football gear alone.

And she's a teacher? That's incredible she is arguing with high school team rules. Not a lot you can say to people like that man. Sounds to me like it's a good cull. Move on and get ready for the next tournament.
