Evidently some contractors in this case a pool contractor really don't get what they are supposed to be doing. Man I would have gone in a different direction in hindsight. I don't know if this is the norm in this field and I know a lot of people only build one ever so you really walk into it blind. Luckily I have enough experience building other stuff to have some idea of what is suppose to go on. I know I'm dealing with some of the worst stone work I have ever seen, a crack in the deck that happened immediately, and mastic that didn't stick. Oh and a contractor that can't finish punch list and clearly is a low expectations kind of guy.

I would add that I'm sure they didn't enjoy the language I used, they didn't enjoy some of the stuff I called them, the contractor didn't enjoy the lawyer chat we just had but when you Jack around and don't tend to your stuff these things happen. I know I didn't enjoy being put in the position to have to blow a gasket.

Understandable.

I hate people so your experience would really make me upset.

It is evidently just too much to expect people to do proper work or even show up. I'm really not that hard to deal with. I will say this a contractor should be a picky mofo with high expectations. That ain't what I got.

Had the same problem when we were having our pool built several years back. Luckly the pool company made everything right, and I stuck by the payment schedule and if something in that phase was not right I did not pay until it was.

How hard could it be to dig a hole and line it with concrete?

A pool is heartache from the day construction starts. After 11 years im now facing a replaster and several cosmetic repairs. Not to mention the 3 pumps ive replaced as well as numerous pump seals. I truly hate my pool

1%er problems.

Did you drug test them before they started?

And I'm gonna have to find someone else for service cause when I'm done with this guy I'm done with this guy. Its a shame cause he is a nice guy, easy to work with but can't seem to represent the client in the deal and is entirely to non confrontational with his vendors. I have had to be the bad guy from day one.

I have seen some pool builders really take advantage of some homeowners that are not familiar with pools at all. It's kinda sad to see what they leave the homeowners with. The only thing worse is repair companies that home warranty company use

When you think of it in terms of cost per square foot but then consider the materials they are using something doesn't add up, at least when you compare to basically any other type of construction.
