I haven't been on the forum in a while so I figured I might as well post about my best trip so far this summer. It was my first trip being a high school graduate and me and a couple buddys decided to head east to one of our favorite lakes. My one goal was to catch a 35lb bag so I could top my good friends who had a 34lb bag a few days before. We got to our first spot at about 6:45am and it took us about 30 minutes to figure them out and when we did, it was lights out. We boated several 4-5 pound fish in about 15 minutes and I dumped off 2 fish over 8 pounds that decided to throw my jig which really ignited a fire in me knowing that I would be really close to my goal had we got those fish in the boat. But then things turned around. We had a 6.37 and 8.24 double up and 2 casts later I boated another 6.32! We continued to catch fish after fish and they were nothing but quality. Every fish but 3 that I caught absolutely crushed a 3/4oz Santone Football Jig in my favorite color, Falcon craw. 2 of the 3 took a Tennessee Shad 10XD, one of which was a donkey that weighed 7 and change. I was throwing the football jig on Dobyns Champion Extreme HP 746 with 20lb flourocarbon strung onto a 7.5:1 Lews Tournament MB which is my go to set up for big football jigs or Texas rigs in deep water. We ended the day with a monster bag totaling up to 35.31lbs and 50+ total fish. I boated 24 fish and all but 5 were over 5lbs. It was such a great feeling knowing I caught one of the biggest bags of my life but the cherry on top was beating my friends! It was definitely a trip for the books and a memory that will be with me till I die! What is the biggest bag y'all have caught this summer? And 2 of the pictures won't post for some reason. One is the picture of the monster double up and the other is a 6.70 so if somebody could help me out, that would be great!

Great trip and report. I think a few spots look very familiar. Hoping you left a few for the rest of us.
