I don't know about catfishing with lights, but I catch bait on a dock that has a green light and I also get white bass, yellow bass, bream, buffalo, carp and hybrids every time. All I'm saying is green sure brings in the shad and bait fish a lot better than the white lights.

I have been told green light is more like the moon light in the water. I know it draws in the bait fish.

I don't use green lights for catfishing in the sense that I use it to draw fish in, but I use it for baitfish such as shad and minnows. The way the green lights work is they stimulate phytoplankton to gather around the light at night which is microscopic "stuff" shad eat. Typically catfish are slow movers and I haven't seen them anywhere near my lights despite plenty of other fish such as crappie/sand bass/large mouth being drawn in due to the shad. Manufacturers have experimented and they find the green lights work better than white because they emit a particular spectrum of light that works better with the phytoplankton.

I just got a Green LED fishing light from www.greenglowdocklight.com and it works great. Very bright easy to drop in and out. comes with both battery clips and cigarette plug. Green always seems to work the best and its easier on the eyes. tanker

I have always heard green lights. Never used them before because I mostly bank at night but let us know how you fare once you start.

Anybody try the cylum sticks for a green light? The sticks you break in half to mix a chemical that creates a light that lasts 5-6 hours

I've caught yellow cats by green dock lights on LBJ before. If the lights bring in bait fish, then there will be predatory fish there too.
