Looking at a ranger Z520 the boat is 2009 and they put a gator hull on it in 2014? Why would you put a gator hull on a boat unless it has some cracks/holes, etc..? The boat is at a dealership and they do not know the story behind it. Thanks for any feedback

To prevent holes if they fished a bad lake. It really wouldn't be a concern to me why as long as it is good now

Putting a Gator Hull on a boat is a good investment period. I'd prefer a boat with Gator Hull over a boat without it. I know some guys that had it done on brand new boats just for the extra strength because they fish in a lot of stumpy lakes.

I would rather have a boat with a Gator Hull over a painted hull that has been patched and painted over to hide it as the Gator is stronger and LIFE TIME warranty

if you are buying it to use for a good while ok but if you trade every few yrs not so good. when you sell or trade it will not bring as much.

I would ask the question why you would spend several thousand dollars on a hull and sell it 2 years later.
