dairy hill was open saturday morming
lake pretty stained and water high
crappie quit biting when the sun came up

The water is 3 ft lower than it was last week, but it is still too high to use courtesy docks at the ramp. Water ranges from muddy to stained....bite is slow, crappie are deeper than 6 feet (we caught some around six and some around 16 feet.). Worked the shallows hard...nada....fish were hanging on Shad, not biting artificials very well...While fishing I made a comment that we needed to be using live bait today, although with the gates open, I am not sure it would matter. The fish "just had a headache today"...all we caught were spawned out females.
