I don't own one but a friend of mine bought a new boat with a 115 E Tec and loves it!

I have one ...runs good, turns on first crank,zips gas and oil. Get the ho version I think you might have bought yours in Eastland if not mistaken. I sure like Terry. He has cinvinced me to go Etec HO 115. Thanks for your response.

Bobcat I have always liked Johnson/Evinrude motors...especially the older very reliable carbed versions....they kinda went downhill for a while...then bombardier bought them out and after a couple of years owning them...they really started cranking out some good engines, from what some of the mechanics will allow...don't talk to sales guys, talk to the mechanics over a few beverages and you will get the info you seek...and don't bother asking a merk, Yahama, or Honda mechanic...because they will not give you any useful information on the competition...they will however dish them back in the weak years, just before they were bought out...BTW, as I recall, those E Tecs are clean burning 2 strokes and will walk off and leave the four strokes in the dust with much less annual maintainence hassles or expense...Hope this information helps...

I have a 2014 E-TEC 175 HP, so far I really like it. Mine is programmed for XD100 evinrude oil, runs about 40.00 a gallon. Trade off is it sip the oil compared to the 90 HP Mercury I traded in. Also sip the fuel, you won't be disappointed.
