The lake is fishing good right now as the big fish are shallow getting ready to spawn. I saw Bill Lowen with a DD down there on Denny Brauer's Facebook site.

Best place in town if you are coming down and looking more than a place to lay your head.

Spring Break camping at Coleto Creek got rerouted to the lake house due to weather forecast. On our way down our 5 year-old said, "how come I never catch a fish before?" Didn't take for her to hook up on the first morning. The action shot is classic and her prize will make you smile. Shortly after the release my son hooked up with his PB 7 lbs 2 oz. Final tally for the day was about 30 fish with the majority of them between 2 and 5 pounds. Best bite was shallow.

Debbie had a 5 lb 1 oz and a 4 lb 9 oz first thing the next morning. The bite was pretty good so I decided to looks around for some new areas. Found fish at every stop between 3 and 25 feet, but mostly in the 2 to 4 pound range. All the fish caught deep were dinks which was the same thing Jim Edwards said when I saw him at Falcon Lake Tackle the next day.

Water temp south was between 73 and 78. I was in Diablo on the second evening and it was 82. I thought it was an error at first, but spoke to Justin Crawford the next day and they reported 80's on the north end as well.

We have pretty decent availability coming up, give us a call if you're looking for lodging.

Weekend of Basschamps and Thursday through Sunday the week before are booked, otherwise April availability is good.

Fishing is outstanding, I'm booked July 5th - 10th otherwise lots of availability. Summertime is routinely the most active bite of the year. If you can take the heat it won't be any better the rest of the year!!!

4 days of 80's and the weather looks warm this week as well. I saw water almost 70 degrees this weekend. Things are about to bust loose, it's going to be a great Spring and Summer for fishing
