Im excited for the new g2 to come out. I had to sell both of my other yaks to make room. Bitter sweet, both of them have given me more pleasure and big fish than i can count. I love them and am definitely sad to see them go. I hope the next owners will continue the mojo. I will miss them.

The g2 is the new raptor model. Added weight capasity, removable fishfinder pod and the ability to use the mirage drive. It will be out the end of this month.

How much are mirage drives to buy separate though? That will make it one expensive little yak! lol

How much are mirage drives to buy separate though? That will make it one expensive little yak! lol The yak will start around 1500, add the mirage drive and its about 2100. People pay that all the time for kayaks even without peddles.

Will the G2 be the carbon model the've been working on, or will that be a later offering. I thought I saw that the G2 wasn't scheduled to be out until the end of the year. I guess I misunderstood. Anyway, I've seen sneak pics of the G2, but haven't been able to get a complete picture in my mind of what has changed--just the things you mentioned. Looking forward to seeing your report.

Looking at the FB page, I do not see any rudder. With the mirage drive how do you steer? With the paddle?
If everything checks out good, I can see myself buying a G2 over an Outback!

It's always nice to get new toys, even when you have to give up old friends that brought great memories. It's funny what we can get attached to.
