I saw this topic way down in the pile and for some reason I couldn't post on it but I wanted relate a funny story:

One of my guitar students back in the early 80's had a mom who was a former Miss Missouri or Arkansas. She was breath taking beautiful and super nice. And divorced. Even though I am not intimidated by beautiful women, it was difficult to sit and talk to her without taking all that woman in, if you get my drift. But her 10-year son was hilarious and great fun to be around.

Usually after lessons, we'd sit and chat a bit going over the lesson and what his homework was for the next week. He told me this story while the three of us sat in the lobby.

He told me that sometimes he was embarrassed by the attention his mom got whenever they went somewhere together. He told me that one time they had gotten tickets from her folks to go up and see the Cowboys play and he really wanted to be on the big screen so he could wave to his friends. But every time the cameraman turned to he and his mom, he'd focus on her and not him. He said they showed her on the big screen three or four times and it was making him crazy not to get on the screen. So the next time they showed her on the screen, he jumped up in front of her and lifted up his shirt. As soon as his face and skinny chest showed up on the big screen, the crowd started booing. But he got on the big screen.

Later at school, his classmates kidded him about his antics on national TV and he just smiled at them and said "Well, at least they got to see my boobs instead of mom's for a change." And he said it was a big confident grim. His mom, on the other hand, was embarrassed but laughed anyway.

I was trying so hard not to fall on the ground I almost had to leave the room. She was a good sport but told him that maybe it was story to tell when she wasn't sitting right there. He said "It's okay Mom. I'm proud of your boobs." Then I lost it completely.

That's funny. You never know what kids will say at the most inopportune time.
