Did you target this lake with a plan of action in place to grind it out?

One more question: Why did you choose 12 pound line to fish the jig? Is there a lot of cover where you are fishing or is it open water?

I've fished this lake and a few others like it, and yes, I'm there for the grind.

I chose 12lbs line because I had to replace the line on that reel about, 20 minutes into fishing. 12lbs was what I had in the truck, I had left my spool of 15 at the house. It worked fine, maybe better, I know I could cast it further. there was some cover, but it was never a problem, I never lost a fish because of the weight of my line.

Mississippi has a number of small lakes intensively managed for gamefish. Some are "sleeper" lakes with respect to big bass. While a lake may be known for its catfish or panfish, there are sometimes quiet/discrete trophy bass fishermen having a good time also...

Okhissa had been so low it was closed for some time. It was also out of balance and had a lot of small bass. I lost track of where that lake stands now as far as management goes. If they have started over, a hey-day for that lake is coming in the future, after a proper growth period.

Okissa is no longer state funded though I hear they trying to round up some $ to restock the lake, It has some big head fish with no belly, that lake needs big bait fish.

Looks like Calling Panther is pumping them pig's out huh.

Other than the lure choice and retrieval rate, are there any other consistencies that you can think of, like time of day, barometric pressure, cloud cover, etc.?
