i figure if the lake is really high an ramps are closed they should be letting out some water. last spring with all the flooding i killed them. limit out every visit. i need to stock up on some shad.

I went by there Saturday and they were letting water out then, there was a lot of people fishing but I don't know if they were catching anything or not !!!

I will be going this Friday and sunday. looks like yesterday they were letting out about 5,000 CFPS. if anyone wants to join me one of those days

HI DJ, been wanting to go, so may go out Sunday PM me, for gear and bait I should prepare. I have several Long solid poles and mixture of bait, but could go cast net some shad if needed, unless you can do that there. thanks! Sunday weather looks good (At the moment... )

got some new pole on cyber Monday I want to test out as well as a 7ft 600 series Pro cast net I want to see how it does. hope we can just find a good spot. I like fishing at the top form the very end and casting across into that corner pocket near the building on the other side. might be somewhat hung over from NYE lol but I should be there at lease by 9am

Ray Bob isn't going over the spillway...for some reason the end of the flood pool doesn't equal spillway elevation. My understanding is substantial development has occurred in the Ray Roberts spillway area and massive flooding would take place if the spillway was topped.

On a separate note... It looks like troubled dam Lewisville is going to top for the 2nd time this year! Be sure to wear your waterwings if you are in the Dallas area.

went yesterday from about 2:30pm-5pm, threw the cast net out 15-20 times and no luck with bait, caught a few carp with it so used a small one for cut bait. there were probably about 14 people out there and by the looks of it none of use were having any luck. talked to a guy in the parking lot and he said he caught about 25 crappie but it was on the river part where it starts to curve about 60 yards from the gates, in that same area I could she the birds coming down on some bait. hope its a little better this Friday.
