Find a clean spot in your yard and practice, practice, practice!
Chad Ferguson has a video that makes it easy to learn.

ProKast Perfect Circle works like a charm for 6 - 8' radius nets...good luck on that 10' net. FYI...7' is the max in Texas waters.

I started out with a 7 ft SuperSpreader. I now throw a 5 ft net. The 7 ft one kept getting caught on the boat hand rails

I throw mostly peanuts, (shape) and occassional taco. You gotta be a pretty dump live bait to get caught in a taco. Good luck

I tried and tried to learn to throw a big one but never got it down. I'm way more productive with a smaller net that opens every time. This is not me but how I throw mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckm6BIVryEY

Go with someone who knows how to throw it. Take your phone and video them. Download it on your computer or on your TV screen

If it ain't broke don't fix it...but go ahead and work on it anyway.....

Biggest I have thrown is an 8 footer (Texoma), but I threw it exactly how I throw all of my other ones. I would just practice a lot. There are a lot of variations out there on how to throw a net, find what is comfortable for you and do that.

Thanks,
Olen

Gizzard shad tend to keep their belly in the mud so yes, let it sink to the bottom.
