I posted this response to, and in, the post down below saying that "Mexico has nothing on this place" ---- No "fish story" here. This is the truth, and there many who will back this up. On El Salto last week, Dec. 8-12, a group of 18 guys, for 4 1/2 days of fishing, caught a very close estimate of 4,500 bass, with an average estimated weight of a bit over 2 1/2 #'s, for a total of about 11,500 #'s of bass. The best 5 fish for that time period, for one guy, was almost 46#. My boat partner and I had an 89 fish day and another pair had a 99 fish day. There were 3 guys who had fish over 11 #'s, and there were a great many caught in the 5, 6, and 7 # range. Also fewer in the 8 - 10 # range; but it didn't matter the size of the fish, as they all tried to yank the rod out of your hand. I didn't beat my 11 # 4 oz. from when several of this group went down there last year, at the same time, and my best is trip was about 8 1/2 #. Not too shabby a fishing trip. The last day of fishing , Sat. the 12th, it poured so hard that there were times when I couldn't see my bait hit the water, but the fish still bit like crazy. Doug King and his Pro Bass Adventure Mexico based staff are the most accommodating folks, serving the best food, and way too much of it. The beer and tequila was also good. Great trip to El Salto with a great group of new and old fishing friends, staying at, and fishing from the best place.

I'm 70, and I've crossed that one off my bucket list twice now, and still have 8 more years to go before I have to renew the passport. We had one gentleman in our group who is 85 yrs. old and it was his second trip as well. He's the oldest guy to have ever gone down there with Doug King's Pro Bass Adventures. He and I are ready to do it again next year.

My trip last year with Pro Bass Adventures @ El salto was Great 4.25 days 5 nights. Me and my partner caught over 530 bass with most being 5lbers not to mention the hundreds of blow ups and missed and thrown hooks. Mexico all day long guys hell one of the guys caught a 7lb waiting at the ramp to take off for the afternoon trip cant beat that!! Thanks Doug King

OOOOps, Sorry Dannie. Just another of those "senior moments". 4 over 11 # sure is better than 3 over 11 #. I forgot the one you caught, but then again that's almost a given, plus I'm also not real good at dealing with math. hammer

A fish in the boat, every 5 minutes, for the entire day, is almost unbelievable. May have to give it a try!

When you guys go on these trips are you getting guides? How safe is the area (kids)? Where are you staying?

Jkwho we are going with guides yes. I had a group of 18 go with Pro Bass Adventures-Doug King. It is an all inclusive lodge. They really take care of you. Doing 3 trips down in 2016. We have had a blast on these trips.

to: JkWho -The Pro Bass Adventures place is gated and they have camera security system that someone monitors all night. El Salto is a short ways off a major toll road that goes between Mazatlan and Durango. I've felt safe and have actually never thought of any safety concerns while riding in the vans an hour + each way to and from the airport in Mazatlan, while I was staying there at the lodge, and while I was on the water. There are boats from other lodges coming and going on the lake all the times we were there and they do help one another. Most all carry a 2-way radio as well. At Pro Bass Adventures you can even leave your fishing rods, reels and gear in the boats over night with nothing being touched. There is guide for every boat, whether you fish with a partner or alone. I'm sure it would be very safe for kids, but there have not been any there while we've been there. There are no specific facilities for kids, and I'd assume they would have to really like bass fishing, because you are in the boat all day long fishing. You can get all the information you need by going to the Pro Bass Adventures website @: www.fishingmexico.net or by calling Doug King @:480-491-9300 for the office or on his cell @: 480 861-5021. Hope that helps answer your questions.

Hola all...

First, I'd like to thank you guys for the kind words here. (Propman Al, Lone Star, Dannie, Ron, Gary W., and all others), but especially for coming down and fishing with us!
We really appreciate you amigos!

If you are coming down with us soon (Concrete200/DT & others here) give me a shout for baits you will definitely want to have. I've asked our guys not to get to specific regarding certain bait details on social media, forums, etc., cuz I'm selfish and don't want to dilute our competitive advantages on El Salto or Baccarac grin

What's fishing without "secret" baits? LOL
Contact me, Propman, or Dannie at Get Bit Guide Service (above), and maybe he will give you some 1 on 1 info on their latest Salto success. My lips are sealed...publicly anyway....but I did just place a big order for more grande candy.

Thanks again to all of you, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
