Just got a new 6500 C3 and I am not sure what I should spool it with. I want to go with braid as line. Any suggestions?

You are going to get many answers on this thread. I have been using 65 pound power pro with a leader on my hook on 30 pound mono. It has been working well for me. I prefer braid because I think I feel bites much better with it.

65 lb power pro or 30 lb big game. I run a 50 lb big game mono leader on both.

30lb big game would be hard to beat for Catfishing.

The team catfish mono is pretty good too

I use 25# Offshore Angler from Bass Pro. It's tough as nails. Pulls 40's out of trees, good enough for me. Won't break, craziest thing I've ever seen in mono. A buddy of mine pulled a 65 out of a tree with it last year on Twok. Ntm its $10 for 1000 yards.

Well since you said you wanted to use braid, I'd suggest 65lb.

I would stay away from braid unless you are experienced using a baitcast reel. You might end up with the backlash of death.
